Welcome to the "Whirl Into Winter Giveaway".....and welcome to my blog.
I thought I would just start off by stating a few rules of the giveaway.
1) NO comments will count unless they are left on/after January 1, 2009 and no later than January 15, 2009. I will post the winner's name on my blog the evening of the 15th so check back then.
2) I am requiring all commenters leave me your email address IN YOUR COMMENT!

I just think the block is so universal...can be squishy so it blends and graphic if use a strong color in the X squares of the block...

I would say my favorite quilt back is MINKEE. Although I haven't used it myself yet, it looks and feels wonderful. I have seen quite a few quilts with it and I have some to try.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite block would be the 6 point star. Due to circumstance beyond my control I've had to resort to hand piecing. In doing so, I learned how to sew inset seams. Since then I've been hooked! I'm working on a the assembly of my quilt top now!

My favorite quilt block is the Cathedral Window. I always have hand piecing around to do when I get the chance to sit and this block is perfect and portable. And it helps me use up some of my scraps (though my stash has a life of its own).

ReplyDeleteFavorite pattern/block - has to be the 54/40 or fight. Have made several, 13 and counting. I love the fact that a simple change of color can change the entire look of the pattern. I can't say that I really have a favorite block yet. I just started quilting about a month ago and it's been very rudimentary. I really enjoyed making a ragged edge Christmas quilt for my aunt though.

My fav block is the rosebud. I ran across a revision of the block about a year ago for a swap on one of my yahoo groups, and just loved how they all turned out! Today is my b-day! Would love to win your goodies. smithbad@nemr.net
ReplyDeleteI am new to quilting and don't know the names of alot of blocks but I love the amish quilts with a star on it that has lots of points, not sure what that is called--hmmm maybe its not even a block. Oh well I love it. I just finished my 2nd memory quilt with my kids baby clothes.
