I made the black stars and then today I made up some pink ones. I think this is going to be a fast quilt to assemble. I cut out the pink and yellow fabrics today so they'll be assembled hopefully tomorrow and Thursday. I need 36 stars!</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These blocks took much longer than I expected but I love each one.....and enjoyed the process.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
NOW.......they're all done and I had to pick a sashing color for between each block and row.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hmmmmmm...... Which one should I use? I did consult the designer of the fabric, and she sent me the link for these 4 solids. I loved the yellow at first and was thinking, YUP, i'm doing yellow....but as I started rearranging the blocks I felt like the navy was the right fit......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
YUP, navy was perfect! It took one rainy, cold afternoon to sash them all and now......I'm waiting for this fabric line called "Garden Variety" by LellaBoutique to hit the fabric stores. I'd gotten an advance bundle of the prints from a shop that I frequent but the yardage won't hit stores till I think around Halloween.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm thinking the navy print might be the perfect backing. What do you think?</div>

<br />
I have recently discovered Alphabities.....and man o man, what a nice discovery!!!<br />
They make the whole process of cutting fabrics so much easier!!!<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've noticed on Instagram that a lot of the girls that are doing the BOM have started to assemble their rows, but I'm going to wait till after the holidays to even open up the finishing kit. For now, i'll make the monthly blocks and then once we get into the new year and I can relax and focus better, I'll open the finishing kit up and take a look at what i've gotten myself into......</div>

<br />
I was going great guns over the weekend but then I realized I had a few "BEE" commitments and a few things to make for the granddaughters so they are now on the design wall waiting patiently for my attention later this week. So, for now, I have 8 of the 16 blocks cut and sewn. I have 4 more cut and then 2 more to cut after that.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQd3MLIGjJraU_8CewNdAv0TUo2auRatTIuEkMX-MK3JNJhloP2M9VZ3rqZYrvn9dF0oXfU6_AC9ILvTL70FeccopIqNUb70CH8eaa4Hyy_T5m2N9J0S6OgvZ6rp7IZLiAfJJvwdR8u-I/s1600/IMG_0259.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQd3MLIGjJraU_8CewNdAv0TUo2auRatTIuEkMX-MK3JNJhloP2M9VZ3rqZYrvn9dF0oXfU6_AC9ILvTL70FeccopIqNUb70CH8eaa4Hyy_T5m2N9J0S6OgvZ6rp7IZLiAfJJvwdR8u-I/s640/IMG_0259.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
These were the last 3 I made and added to the wall........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoVIS2CewTIjeKBoWFdDT3L5ro9ic3ph6wKHH-mw4YI8fglvtANYWgQGibKylXuccDB1NVboZf08yQM432TdlzqsieXYCm4mXlfmE9zMaEIwaQ8YaMm4ng1I9Ow4y8oPjkN8FOsS8F46Q/s1600/IMG_0258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoVIS2CewTIjeKBoWFdDT3L5ro9ic3ph6wKHH-mw4YI8fglvtANYWgQGibKylXuccDB1NVboZf08yQM432TdlzqsieXYCm4mXlfmE9zMaEIwaQ8YaMm4ng1I9Ow4y8oPjkN8FOsS8F46Q/s640/IMG_0258.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I LOVE how they are all coming along.....but this next one has my absolute favorite fabric in it from this new line.........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnr8cXynatSLW6wE6gmwtVSZ3uci7hECjF5rUlNPIyprL4Wx14XH5rhqjIU622nxUeIvh1R5zjCzRnYmRhzcedCmjI4FKk-COh9HA9ptTPOETaq74yUHI9CDDGmxzkOiEd9Ec98qDsPIc/s1600/IMG_0261.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnr8cXynatSLW6wE6gmwtVSZ3uci7hECjF5rUlNPIyprL4Wx14XH5rhqjIU622nxUeIvh1R5zjCzRnYmRhzcedCmjI4FKk-COh9HA9ptTPOETaq74yUHI9CDDGmxzkOiEd9Ec98qDsPIc/s640/IMG_0261.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
That blue print just grabs me.....as do these bees......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Aren't they awesome?????</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will need to purchase LOTS of extra yardage of the bees....especially the white version!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh yeah!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The navy print above will HAVE to be the backing for this quilt but it's not available for a few more weeks so I will have to be patient and just wait.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stop back soon.....</div>

We are assigned a month, preferably your birthday month and then you receive a quilt block of your choice in that month. <div>
My block choice for 2018 was "LUCKY" by Camille Roskelley. I wanted all my blocks from one Fig Tree fabric line called "Chestnut Street". The blocks came in a few a week and then right after January 2018 arrived, I had a quilt's worth of blocks so I immediately set them and sent the quilt out for quilting......</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLVF8pSU7lZYk5x3kC8tXxpMCKykno85KtoAAJcMGg9zL99rPw8pPeBMLZlI91bnCBusXYEFMxC8AOws-h9-JcQ6BrhXEzJZ43ivycTEDIBV6Bpmlyy4S6oF_R86iIqW1G_nPkHZr4m6c/s1600/IMG_8997.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLVF8pSU7lZYk5x3kC8tXxpMCKykno85KtoAAJcMGg9zL99rPw8pPeBMLZlI91bnCBusXYEFMxC8AOws-h9-JcQ6BrhXEzJZ43ivycTEDIBV6Bpmlyy4S6oF_R86iIqW1G_nPkHZr4m6c/s640/IMG_8997.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My area for pictures is limited but this shows pretty well what the quilt looks like.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk8Rm_oXZBWcjtohyOyi3ftcrLYQZw1R8w-L7VigiAnvND2dRPjpoDDqKJGluSoVfEbKTsNI4AUVC9Ym-kn3VqBv8Hk3WsI5W6vj2lWOGMVKM5W-QBqScMlNre15iwaS6V_epOFCKUYxo/s1600/IMG_9009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk8Rm_oXZBWcjtohyOyi3ftcrLYQZw1R8w-L7VigiAnvND2dRPjpoDDqKJGluSoVfEbKTsNI4AUVC9Ym-kn3VqBv8Hk3WsI5W6vj2lWOGMVKM5W-QBqScMlNre15iwaS6V_epOFCKUYxo/s640/IMG_9009.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found a red with white flannel dot for the backing, which worked perfectly with the top.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've had it quilted and binding attached and it's ready for the winter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We've come to an end for 2018's Figgy Bee and now is the time to start planning for 2019....YAY!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Each and every one of the Figgy girls have quite an extensive fabric collection, as do I, but when asking for girls to make me a block I tend to play it safe and request just 1 line/1 block so I know in the end that I'll be able to assemble a cohesive quilt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2019 fabric will be "Coney Island" from Fig Tree and this year my pattern is called "Blue Ribbon" also by Fig Tree.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwRRlZTy2aEjp_Lxy78s5sw7OrzKtm755tNNRh0cYiYDQIEYuUFVhF-N7IhqAHfxsojz8VQLebhqZ65mxfvb9hwZAODPnNi_1f6LULeTZGFsuIf4MB8YHEuN1Px_iGf0osiLXRQPR4pzc/s1600/IMG_0279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwRRlZTy2aEjp_Lxy78s5sw7OrzKtm755tNNRh0cYiYDQIEYuUFVhF-N7IhqAHfxsojz8VQLebhqZ65mxfvb9hwZAODPnNi_1f6LULeTZGFsuIf4MB8YHEuN1Px_iGf0osiLXRQPR4pzc/s640/IMG_0279.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I couldn't decide what to work on today so I pulled my pattern out and cut for 1 block....Since there are only 12 girls including myself in the Bee, I know in the end I'll have to make a few blocks myself so why not try the pattern out now..........</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The block turned out prettier than I expected so I know that when the others come that this is going to be a beautiful quilt! I can't wait!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
OH....did I mention that we don't start till January and my month this year is in May? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, at least I'm ready!!!<br /></div>

<br />
Today I want to revisit an OLD quilt but one of my favorites.......<br />
<br />
I can clearly remember working on this churn dash quilt on weekends and after work.....when I still worked. That is an important key because I'm trying to date this quilt but I cannot for the life of me remember the year. One of my flaws in quilting is mostly keeping track of when I made something and who I ultimately gifted it to.......<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlVCZSL-dQb3A5h7CWzuuBXbGO_YeIiR8q632w4021Vr0DapoSCTELyEKICXW-0eiQ6H8EUA_vhai6dUWwRiHRKzgkQMPCXRiZvoOxFNPs20rCNy7JF5SyGsFDGx2IuRTNX7yo-6ln_r4/s1600/IMG_0198.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="717" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlVCZSL-dQb3A5h7CWzuuBXbGO_YeIiR8q632w4021Vr0DapoSCTELyEKICXW-0eiQ6H8EUA_vhai6dUWwRiHRKzgkQMPCXRiZvoOxFNPs20rCNy7JF5SyGsFDGx2IuRTNX7yo-6ln_r4/s640/IMG_0198.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The one thing I remember about this one is I scoured my closet and pulled out every fabric that read aqua/lime green. I'm sure I'd seen that combo "somewhere"......and another point I remember is I assembled the piano key border on Superbowl Sunday so I'm going to say January 2013??????</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next picture is me picking the quilt up in the parking lot of a church in Delaware where I met the girl that quilted it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaRzofx36a_1IV-eTvdrISe_8e58s1Mk_Cf4-oKXK1YQxyRqirE8yKolu6ieT37F7UzLMWvjISYn4xmU_jzL-9BUMQWWDO6fDY-OfTzLKJrejEoGnfjDIO6iIDFkg3kxAdKYdj6JMGkCM/s1600/michelle%2527s+100th.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaRzofx36a_1IV-eTvdrISe_8e58s1Mk_Cf4-oKXK1YQxyRqirE8yKolu6ieT37F7UzLMWvjISYn4xmU_jzL-9BUMQWWDO6fDY-OfTzLKJrejEoGnfjDIO6iIDFkg3kxAdKYdj6JMGkCM/s640/michelle%2527s+100th.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I loved how it was quilted! If I remember correctly, the quilter took this picture because this was her 100th quilt that she'd quilted.........</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't remember where this quilt ended up.....I'm sure I gifted it to someone but I don't remember who :( I'm thinking that it's time to plan another churn dash quilt like this one....maybe using some of my scraps?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Friday and end of September 2018 !!!</div>

<br />
It's a wet one once again but other than that, I have no complaints.<br />
<br />
Another week, another sewalong announced on Instagram.....but this one really caught my eye since it's hosted by Fat Quarter Shop using Camille Roskelley's "Swoon 16" block.<br />
I decided that I'd sewalong with them but I may not be able to keep up due to other commitments that may have to go in front. For now, I'm cutting out the 16 blocks and will sew on them when I can.<br />
<br />
My fabric choice is Garden Variety by Lellaboutique.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't have the issue like some girls do with taking that MODA ribbon off.....if I want to make something with the fabric I just rip it off! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made 1 block yesterday.....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I LOVE how it turned out so I pulled 3 prints for the next one last night....</div>

I remember a teacher in the school I worked at had to put her mom in a facility at the time so I gave it to her to help make mom's room look homey........<br />
<br />
Well, I recently decided that the HUGE pile of Thimbleblossom's "The Good Life" fabric needed to be cut into!<br />
<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's one of those tops that I made with a pack of fat quarters that were not really "me" but in the end I liked the quilt and it's a light top that I can use at this time of year. I tend to stuff it in the back of my closet and forget about it though.......I have made the decision to keep it out this winter, over the back of my rocking chair and use it! (kind of like today...I snuggled under while it poured outside and watched a few Hallmark movies)</div>

I thought I'd get to post yesterday but my laptop had other ideas. I feel like this is almost the end of the road for this laptop friendship....and that makes me sad. Oh well....<br />
<br />
I spent some time over the weekend deciding on my "BEE" block for the next round of my Instagram Bee with my friends. We start the next round September 1st and I'm December so I knew I needed to get my butt in gear and get moving.<br />
<br />
So, the September girl is Amanda in California. She chose a Thimbleblossoms pattern called "Fireworks". She wants a navy background (which she provided all of us) and then wants red, aqua, white...any combination. I like to make my blocks up at least a week or two in advance so the girls get their block in the beginning of their month. Here's Amanda's.......<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizVy_PjU-oMsimwFgVVRUYUIOq148nnz8qolu5KvvymP_xmtLBD4hkjH4Qq2obnKSzaLnd-kfH3KBSjsEJTJ9mXAhVDtKmlgGiwgT1WguJdp7ORdIhL_5_ud8YY3xflpqZkP5B-StvLQE/s1600/IMG_9861.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizVy_PjU-oMsimwFgVVRUYUIOq148nnz8qolu5KvvymP_xmtLBD4hkjH4Qq2obnKSzaLnd-kfH3KBSjsEJTJ9mXAhVDtKmlgGiwgT1WguJdp7ORdIhL_5_ud8YY3xflpqZkP5B-StvLQE/s640/IMG_9861.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was a hard block to photograph but here it is..... We also send a little something for the Queen Bee so this year I decided that I'd make everyone a little project pouch and mail their block inside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjkjXej60i1dSdIvJaNDmD7Jh07Z3ezAVFxmiuXpPhs6X_GARlP_mqtQLKLkWnqjOSLZndRTF_mThWjb1rRi2FNBfWqICi9L_Ahwd5JX5s2d6qlAb2ktO612ChmcXm48S-LSsvFw_tD8g/s1600/IMG_9866.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjkjXej60i1dSdIvJaNDmD7Jh07Z3ezAVFxmiuXpPhs6X_GARlP_mqtQLKLkWnqjOSLZndRTF_mThWjb1rRi2FNBfWqICi9L_Ahwd5JX5s2d6qlAb2ktO612ChmcXm48S-LSsvFw_tD8g/s640/IMG_9866.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I haven't made one of these in ages so I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out nice.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did decide on my pattern and fabric too and even decided to use my own fabric to actually use up some of my stash!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD8yV1cK1cJ6eUe3BWa_2nR4JjX0mjZZcLIqdhx2wAfyofArHigYb7hJOskVZWu-v2PuKXmI1cAv0O2gxCxrcWmgbDuHv71EyDzT-vydTMcwlUPwtdiv2qoJxNHf3H7THOGAbF7YxrZD8/s1600/IMG_9502.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD8yV1cK1cJ6eUe3BWa_2nR4JjX0mjZZcLIqdhx2wAfyofArHigYb7hJOskVZWu-v2PuKXmI1cAv0O2gxCxrcWmgbDuHv71EyDzT-vydTMcwlUPwtdiv2qoJxNHf3H7THOGAbF7YxrZD8/s400/IMG_9502.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm also using a Thimbleblossoms pattern called "Puddle Jumping" and a stack of my Little Miss Sunshine fabric. I picked a really cute "bee" background fabric that I've had in my stash for quite a while. We have 13 girls in our bee so I will need to make a few extra to bring it up to size so I made a sample for everyone to see......</div>

<br />
I signed up for this sewalong/BOM back late last summer so it's only fitting I finish it almost a year later. Truthfully though, the project thru Fat Quarter Shop didn't start until January and it was only a 6 month block project and then the 7th month was assembly. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The blocks were not hard....we made 1 12.5 and 1 20.5 inch block over the 6 months. Then the finishing instructions had us add borders to the 12.5 inch blocks which brought them up to 20.5 and set them on pointe. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did all of this yesterday afternoon and then this morning I connected the 4 rows and added the border. Really quite quick and easy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Trying to decide on Sunday afternoon what I felt like working on...........I finally decided that I was tired of looking at this sit under my ironing table and it was TIME to sew it up. The first thing was to cut the jelly roll of Vintage Picnic into strip sets and assemble the scrappy star points.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4CjK4Pe70eQk9NIu8WhQnBl6OmhqAKzSI6dM7EDp_SDmtTyMpbI_jq1Sz9nSR_CWVRuPGSGjtkF3xkV31ITIzdpCpYMmw_Is6FKav_-drZTaF-U-_K6pHIuvk1fqLuGy6PofIQp98aw/s1600/IMG_9829.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4CjK4Pe70eQk9NIu8WhQnBl6OmhqAKzSI6dM7EDp_SDmtTyMpbI_jq1Sz9nSR_CWVRuPGSGjtkF3xkV31ITIzdpCpYMmw_Is6FKav_-drZTaF-U-_K6pHIuvk1fqLuGy6PofIQp98aw/s320/IMG_9829.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ImTCSRxdjasBNl80ShCqct8eYot4_izUaGnjPw-2otfF6PO2mRpIyXst_fkvOiqh2OqGRjFyAxLjWl71_2q2_aAqy28zvwXf65D6wZRPHMWLMYsFKdzE4RLSTJyaDtXoh-OLCydXJWQ/s1600/IMG_9835.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ImTCSRxdjasBNl80ShCqct8eYot4_izUaGnjPw-2otfF6PO2mRpIyXst_fkvOiqh2OqGRjFyAxLjWl71_2q2_aAqy28zvwXf65D6wZRPHMWLMYsFKdzE4RLSTJyaDtXoh-OLCydXJWQ/s320/IMG_9835.JPG" width="240" /></a><br />
<br />
Then I had to make 9 of the scrappy units.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKPcCmVidPMsu7hXq9zgyNWmjLDSWXDMLWAHHyc-TzHQJ124wpIDZyb9KvmNYsarxhQgThPgW-6USkWgZPt7fa2ydLTnAzBGmq0v0OHRB5cDKdSWqWLF9UWCS3mTgjaHZeJ5JvOvoAfqQ/s1600/IMG_9838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKPcCmVidPMsu7hXq9zgyNWmjLDSWXDMLWAHHyc-TzHQJ124wpIDZyb9KvmNYsarxhQgThPgW-6USkWgZPt7fa2ydLTnAzBGmq0v0OHRB5cDKdSWqWLF9UWCS3mTgjaHZeJ5JvOvoAfqQ/s400/IMG_9838.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then came the time to assemble all the other units,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4glFSGqgWAVV6Flt_T8zoU_9ihwCDG8Fv7yjBEktxC__liP1LrCkUtONfcvkX0TPeftXF7mO0aoaG-rhuKGal9Y0YhGW1XuPdtLfhe5LKzqYBmSRz-trpZGhMmHLJwoRNGlIuZvWEwlw/s1600/IMG_9840.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4glFSGqgWAVV6Flt_T8zoU_9ihwCDG8Fv7yjBEktxC__liP1LrCkUtONfcvkX0TPeftXF7mO0aoaG-rhuKGal9Y0YhGW1XuPdtLfhe5LKzqYBmSRz-trpZGhMmHLJwoRNGlIuZvWEwlw/s400/IMG_9840.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and assemble the top......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
LOOK at that top......I am in awe at how beautiful it is......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfy1T2ECh7nTISPcHahzLVxKukiCtcHybisQ2ujI_2-_V9DPUdbrsV4NQC3OZ4mm9B5KrcPY_iMbbJOmzwUrqg8rhxeosJMt_u1lnyJSAKYwxuI9klnq2VojGpguwM7kVvvSUQchtlfcc/s1600/IMG_9849.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfy1T2ECh7nTISPcHahzLVxKukiCtcHybisQ2ujI_2-_V9DPUdbrsV4NQC3OZ4mm9B5KrcPY_iMbbJOmzwUrqg8rhxeosJMt_u1lnyJSAKYwxuI9klnq2VojGpguwM7kVvvSUQchtlfcc/s640/IMG_9849.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It helps to have a 9 foot island in your kitchen....You can lay out the backing (red gingham), throw your top over it and cut to size!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's all ready and packed up to head out to the quilter.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This quilt when made not scrappy could literally be cut and assembled in 1 day...maybe 1-1/2 days. I'm thinking I need a halloween swoon or even a patriotic one!!</div>

One group is strictly Fig Tree fabrics and the other one started out using Bonnie & Camille fabrics but this year if you want to use a different fabric, you can. <br />
<br />
Mindy is the September girl in the B&C Bee but requested Fig Tree fabric and a free block on the Moda Bakeshop!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a really fun and easy block to sew up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Vanessa in the Fig Tree BEE kept with the Fig Tree fabric line but used a B&C pattern called "FRESH". The pattern calls for a white background so the main prints are showcased but Vanessa wanted us to use Fig Tree low volume fabrics...... It's a pretty block but when I make my own, I'll use white.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
2 of the most recent quilts were made for family members and 2 were for friends upcoming grandchildren.<br />
<br />
I became a great aunt to 2 boys this summer. I showed Joe's quilt 2 posts back. The other little guy was born just about a month ago and has had some medical issues but prayers are being said and it looks like he may just be on the upward swing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I picked a lot of animal prints, some fish, pirates etc.....I had an awesome fishy fabric for the border and after it was quilted it looked so nice! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well.....last week I found out that I'd be needing a boy quilt for my neighbor/good friend's upcoming grandson for January so I pulled out all the leftover fabric from my great nephew's quilt and whipped up another HST quilt with that great fish/whale/turtle border fabric. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll be sending this one out for quilting as soon as the backing fabric comes in the mail.</div>

This quilt was for another neighbor/good friend who was going to be a second time grandmother but to a girl. Avalon was born 2 weeks ago and her quilt was made from some Bonnie & Camille swap blocks from a few years ago. I was happy to be able to use them and some pretty pink and red floral yardage for the backing.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I may be on call for another few baby quilts later this year so I'll report on that when it happens......</div>

My nephew and his wife had a new baby 4 months ago so I made "Joe" a quilt. <br />
I wanted something bright that would be eye catching for him. I gave it to them last weekend at a birthday party for another great niece.... Here's me holding Joe. He's a good size little boy!<br />
<br />

<br />
Here's a little "selvage" mug rug I made for a little gift for one of my BEE girls....... Gotta do something with all those selvages besides have them sit in a ziploc bag!<br />
<br />
And here's a collage of my granddaughter Gemma's monthly shots on a quilt I made her before she was born. Every month my daughter took her picture and sent it to me in a text but I never thought to save them all. I finally asked her if she could gather them together into 1 picture. I'm thinking I may have to print this off for my sewing room wall....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
By Month 12 she wouldn't lay on it but she was sitting on it........little stinker!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And last but not least.....I'm starting a few baby quilts for friends and neighbors who are going to be grandmothers soon.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I love just using a white with a little light grey design with some kiddie fun prints to make HST and then once I have a bunch I either make pinwheels or just lay them out like the bottom right print.....<br />
It's all how I feel in the end.<br />
<br />
Have a great Saturday....and thanks for dropping by.<br />

<br />
Well.......I preordered 2 of these kits for my 2 granddaughters...............<br />
I thought to myself at the time, how cute! Fabrics would work from November thru February or March. And they are cute! I ordered flannel backs for them too so they'll keep Gemma and Olivia warm in the winter. <br />
<br />
I assembled Olivia's quilt right away and yes....it's awesome yet also very time consuming.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I knew I couldn't work on Gemma's right away because all that work was overwhelming and NOTHING else got done in the 2-1/2 weeks it took to assemble in the time I had to sew.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
WELL..........about 2-1/2 weeks ago I pulled Gemma's kit out and started to cut.....and cut, and cut.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
AND......after about 17-18 days, I finally finished Gemma's quilt yesterday and this morning, off to my quilter Sarah for her magic on both!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A few of my quilting bee girls have picked this quilt to do for 2019 and I've told them how much work was involved but fortunately for them each girl is making a star and 1 alternate block so they'll have an easier time than I did. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I LOVE how both turned out and it will be nice to get them back quilted so I can bind them in time for Christmas....</div>

This is Block #2 called "Berry Patch". It was designed by Bonnie Olaveson of Cotton Way and Camille Roskelley of Thimbleblossoms. Mother and daughter always design awesome blocks and the Fig Tree & Co fabric just pulls it all together! <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I saw an Instagram post earlier this week about a scrap quilt that I thought I'd LOVE to have so I spent some time today looking thru my magazines in search of the quilt and don't you know.....the absolute last one I collected up had the pattern in it! WHEW........</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I did not do Block Heads 1, mainly because I don't remember seeing it being posted but I did follow along with some IG friends and just loved their blocks so I was sure to keep up with the Moda site this summer.......<br />
<br />
I was away for a week but came home on Wednesday and caught up with block # 5 and Block # 6.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am using my Bonnie & Camille scraps when I can but that Block #5 needed 8-1/2 inch squares for the corners and center so I had to cut into some larger pieces. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I do think that this Blockheads quilt will be an awesome sampler in the end.......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's a picture of the 6 blocks together on my design wall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I could not help myself since the fabrics and colors were so pretty!<br />
<br />
I saw everyone starting their kits but I decided that I needed to clean up a few other projects before I started......<br />
<br />
I wasn't sure how to proceed so I started off cutting and making block #1<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTDQSQxMvxmJZD6D9nv_CC6k0CZqsnzlMmQSgtogErLYuhJ41Yh7eEdgaQV_AQQ2vArLFN6J6xXDHoW96LBCDQ4SklQmh0DbAwzEWecp0Ug0Qyh1rs_O6-WNPtRnT5IX0GbMqtRT84L0A/s1600/IMG_9521.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTDQSQxMvxmJZD6D9nv_CC6k0CZqsnzlMmQSgtogErLYuhJ41Yh7eEdgaQV_AQQ2vArLFN6J6xXDHoW96LBCDQ4SklQmh0DbAwzEWecp0Ug0Qyh1rs_O6-WNPtRnT5IX0GbMqtRT84L0A/s400/IMG_9521.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I cut out block #2</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqqeLJ93VblkThr-Kciy4wLat2nvJNPTemoyg6Tu45RX3fkEmUlScMaoNxZqXPrSFpP3qF9T9R5EJc6-U2MLF4kOl4WYjQPdQ3EQnRmn11ubKuuYpELmbtBt-w15lOWnBiYV32t0rVdxk/s1600/IMG_9526.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqqeLJ93VblkThr-Kciy4wLat2nvJNPTemoyg6Tu45RX3fkEmUlScMaoNxZqXPrSFpP3qF9T9R5EJc6-U2MLF4kOl4WYjQPdQ3EQnRmn11ubKuuYpELmbtBt-w15lOWnBiYV32t0rVdxk/s320/IMG_9526.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7PA7LmUsbnLXTr5T1zWzpfv-AXo4gqNuUOY-v7oiEvg26XybeR33ZeBBvufEnIn4TJ7-LO66I-S0bB5U0JBC2FOeeHRQNoz8FXvxaYM6yt3I4MNB-k9Ur_sjr3I8bV9WR379BslQMkU/s1600/IMG_9525.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7PA7LmUsbnLXTr5T1zWzpfv-AXo4gqNuUOY-v7oiEvg26XybeR33ZeBBvufEnIn4TJ7-LO66I-S0bB5U0JBC2FOeeHRQNoz8FXvxaYM6yt3I4MNB-k9Ur_sjr3I8bV9WR379BslQMkU/s320/IMG_9525.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And I realized after cutting block # 2 that this quilt will be pieced in sections and section 1 did not include block #1......which is fine. I'll just make #2 and move on, assemble this section and then move on to section 2. Block 1 will go wherever it is called for.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, now that I have some of the hst trimmed and sewn, I'll try and get that finished today but then I need to put this all aside for an impromptu trip to Florida to see my mother with my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. Mom was 91 last Sunday but we couldn't get down till this Saturday....which is fine. Mom likes her company spread out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July....</div>

I used fabric from my stash regardless of fabric designer or color. I like "scrappy" so this will be fun.</div>
<div>
Well, I did keep up each week making my one block.....and then they sat. I didn't know what I wanted to do with them so again...they sat. Then I saw a "nested" Churn Dash block and I knew that was what I wanted to do with them so I pulled a lot of fat quarters out, some nice Moda white and I made up 10......and then they sat. I think you see a pattern here! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Last night I pulled the bin out and started looking at the blocks and fabric and decided that I'll start working on them over time........ I'll keep you posted!</div>

The Block is called "Daisy Crown" designed by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Backing is the green on the bottom in the top picture with the finishing kit and some free goodies.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
thread, flower head pins and a label for when it's finished.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut it out and sewed it up this morning...a fairly easy block and I love how it looks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Guess it's time to just set it aside and wait for block #2..........</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another project I'm working on in between other projects is called "Family Tree" by Sherri McConnell. When I work on quilt blocks I cut the extra HST off and collect them in a basket. This Family Tree quilt calls for 504 HST in a pretty big variety so I pulled my cut offs out and started sewing and trimming. I had a little help too from a friend who had been hoarding some hst too but didn't know what to do with them so she mailed them to me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm using Fig Tree fabrics for this one too with any low volume prints I have along with some Moda 60. It's my Leader/Ender project for now until I have all 504 HST......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What do you do with your cut offs?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have a wonderful Sunday.......</div>

I was chatting on IG this morning with my friend Tammy about blogs and decided that I NEEDED to at least update my blog today. Thanks Tammy for the little push 😊<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwZOcqiMRPqPZzct65mE-HH-BEyF766lTJ5UFZmhuTtGtmhXGfpnkd1xSthZ_2ldBo-FIyqqXU0tB2hEimdMBjHA_RtkYv7z84te7xoUPaZqPgLCYnUzm1racYpTZ0pMjuDJxFuo9HBH0/s1600/IMG_9087.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwZOcqiMRPqPZzct65mE-HH-BEyF766lTJ5UFZmhuTtGtmhXGfpnkd1xSthZ_2ldBo-FIyqqXU0tB2hEimdMBjHA_RtkYv7z84te7xoUPaZqPgLCYnUzm1racYpTZ0pMjuDJxFuo9HBH0/s320/IMG_9087.jpg" width="320" /></a> I've decided to start back on this journey with my "Modern Vintage" project with my Bee girls. Each of us pick a month, pick a block and mail to the Queen Bee of the Month. We started out at least 5 years ago swapping Bonnie & Camille fabric with a set block..... With the start of 2017-2018 we decided to switch it up. We could pick any block from any designer and use any fabric. <br />
<br />
I've been holding onto this article about Bonnie & Camille since August 2015 so I was thrilled when the quilt in the article was the cover quilt for Bonnie Olavson's new book. <br />

I strive to keep mine cute and neat but it's a daily struggle.....especially after the mail girl or UPS comes and I open box after box of fabric, patterns, tools, thread etc.........<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
But, back to my quilt.......<br />
<br />
A few of the girls asked for big 24 and 36 inch blocks so when it came to my time to receive I got at least 3 blocks from each girl. A few sent more but the average was 3.<br />
<br />

And here was my finished top.......<br />
<br />
It called for 49 10-1/2 inch blocks in a variety of green, red, mint, navy, aqua and pink. I did ask for orange and yellow as well just to add some variety. The quilt measures 70-1/2 X 70-1/2.<br />
<br />
It's out for quilting presently but should be home next week....and knowing how awesome my quilter Sarah is, I know she'll do a nice job on it. <br />
<br />
I haven't prepped the binding yet since I'm not too sure if I want to do 1 print or pull some strips in a variety of prints yet. I usually wait to see it quilted......<br />
<br />
I'll show pictures next week after it's in my hot little hands.....<br />
<br />
In closing, here's my two favorite granddaughters from last week at a little zoo in Maryland near their house.....<br />

I am in need of a baby boy quilt for my nephew's wife so I pulled bins of kiddie fabrics from my shelves in the closet and this mess </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut a bunch of 6-1/4 inch squares from all that fabric and then I cut some grey on white teeny tiny heart like pieces from a piece of Dear Stella fabric and made half square triangles.</div>

Now to figure out something for the back and since it's only about 40 X 45 or so, I can quilt this with straight lines myself. </div>

This is the design the hostess provided us with and I was fine with that....Less thinking on my part!<br />
In January I put this on my APQ Challenge List and put it in the #1 spot not realizing we didn't go in order.... That's OK, I can wait.....<br />
Well, June 30th it was revealed and voile! #1 was it.<br />

I opened the baggie that had been stored away for close to a year and came up with 3 blocks that were NOT the right size, and even though the hostess said she looked them over good, I came up with 3 that were short..... I did deconstruct them and put them back together so I could use them and then yesterday morning I cut the white strips, did some sewing and here I am 24 hours later with a finished quilt top. <br />
