Robin, Michelle and I were talking last weekend about a swap again this year between the 3 of us. We tossed around quite a few block choices but not fabric choices. We all wanted to use up the Thimbleberries that we have in our stash so we needed a "stash/scrap friendly block".
Buckeye Beauty from Quilterscache was just the ticket..... We decided that we could each make 6 a month, 9-1/2 inches unfinished and still work on our BPF 2009 UFO Challenge Projects.
NOW, we weren't going to start them right away but ya know, over the next few weeks or so.....BUT.....I got a little impatient. I wanted to see what the blocks would look like.
Here they are!!!
Over the next few weeks I need to pull out my TB neutrals and start cutting into them for the next 6 but for now .......this is them. What's everyone else doing?????

I love this block. I don't think I've ever seen it before. Really great. I can think of so many color possibilities.

Very nice blocks. There are SO many on that website, aren't there? Enjoy your swap with the gals!
How interesting! I am making that same block in my Summer Pickle Mystery quilt project! There are so many layouts that work for this too. It is a spectacular quilt block, isn't it? :)
I am doing a king sized version and am now beginning to make the small blocks into bigger blocks. My blocks are 8.5" big and will be 12x14 in the quilt top....I think? Math was never my strong point. lol
These are great blocks, Peggy! And a great way to *try* and use up those leftovers!! LOL!! Seems when we try to use them up, the pile never gets smaller!!!
Those Thimbleberries fabrics are beautiful!
That looks like a fun block! Scrappy quilts are the best!
This block is so pretty. I cant wait to see setting options.
