A girl I work with is going to be a grandma in May so I decided that "Hannah" needed a quilt all her own :) Jeanne has known that this new grandbaby was going to be a girl so I used some pinks and purples in it. The backing is a green with multi color circles that looks great with it and even nicer with the black and white stripe binding.....
Do all the young families now find out what they're having ahead of time? My youngest is 24 and I know back then I didn't find out for her nor for her brother and sister. If I remember correctly, it was a pricey test and the doctor's did NOT do it as part of your normal checkup, you had to make a special appointment for it and our insurance carriers didn't cover it.
I think, and it's only MY opinion, but there are so few "surprises" in this life, a new baby should be one of them....
And, with that said, I just found out that one of my daughter's BFF's found out today she's having a BOY.... I'm on it, I'm on it....I'll get that quilt whipped up pronto!!!

What a pretty quilt! When I was pregnant the first time, we didn't want to know and we had a boy. The second time I wanted to know but hubby didn't. I found out we were having a girl, but couldn't tell anyone until after she was born! LOL
what a fun quilt for a baby. Might" borrow" that idea sometime :)
My kids are 35,30 & 26 & no, we weren't given the option. It was fun, at delivery, for the dr to say.." it's a boy or it's a girl".
Love the quilt Peg! It would be interesting to know how many couples know ahead of the birth and how many don't these days. I've recently met a few pregnant ladies who don't know...and want to keep it a surprise....but I wonder if they're in the minority! Have fun making that new baby quilt!
I love how your stash attack quilt turned out. I haven't started mine yet. The majority of my friends have found out what they are having but I have had a few who haven't. It makes it much more fun, I think, that way.
