Quick Update

Today hubby and I took a trip into the city for a show.
A few weeks ago he asked me what I wanted for my birthday and since I love Hugh Jackman, I asked for tickets to his show on Broadway.

Now, I've been in NYC a lot of times....we live right across the river in NJ so it's an easy trip, but this time hubby checked online and found there was a "gridlock alert" and even as we drove up the turnpike there were warnings.  We'd decided to take the train, which we've never done so I had my first experience with Penn Station.  What a place!  I've never seen such hustle and bustle!

As we went around the corner, there was the Empire State Building.  I never get tired of that view!

We'd promised our daughter some macarons from her favorite shop so we did that right away so we didn't forget.

Walked around the fashion district.......... finally got the picture that usually eludes me, the pin and button.......
and then the sewing man.........

I had wanted to get to City Quilter but they didn't open till 11 and by that point we were busy with other things.  I am thinking I need another day to just go in for a visit there.

We had lunch at a small Irish pub and then in to see Hugh...........

He looked good...as usual, but the show was a little odd and even a little disappointing.
I hadn't looked up the premise of the show before so I was lost watching it.

Hugh is the ultimate entertainer so he was fun to watch and never never never disappoints!

Next show is "Once" in January and we will see it on the last day it's playing.

Looks like a fun day! So you carried the Macarons around all day? What a great Mom.

Great pic of NYC. Especially like the man sewing statue . And of course the pic of the Empire State building. Went up it when I was a Girl Scout...a many years ago .
